An Adventurous Engagement at Chalk Ridge Falls


There is something truly magical about the way the universe connects people. As a photographer originally from Colorado, I always get a little extra excited when I meet fellow Coloradans out here in Texas. So, when this incredible couple answered my model call for a couples session, I knew we were destined to create something beautiful together.



Not only did we share home-state roots, but they also had the ultimate reason to celebrate: they had just gotten officially engaged at the waterfall on Lake Belton!

Embracing a Modern, Natural Vibe


To keep that adventurous, water-loving energy going, we headed over to Chalk Ridge Falls in Belton. I had a very specific creative vision in mind for this shoot, blending the raw, earthy textures of the Texas landscape with a relaxed, modern vibe.


Let me just say: they absolutely killed it.


Dressed in effortless, casual streetwear being completely just them, they brought a cool, contemporary energy to the rugged wilderness. What truly stole the show was their intense, magnetic chemistry. In between navigating the wooded trails, I caught the most tender moments, like her leaning in close, arm draped over his shoulder, flashing a gaze full of pure adoration.

Cinematic Moments in the River


We then made our way right down into the water, using the falls as our backdrop. One of my favorite creative frames from the entire day was a actually at the end wen we were losing light at the falls and Kaila was in-between poses, with me I over shoot for this exact reasoning! the in-betweens are perfection!


But things got even better when we climbed right up into the heart of the falls. Perched directly on the wet rocks with the rushing water cascading right behind them, they pulled each other close. He wrapped his arms around her waist while she cradled his face, pulling him in for a breathless, misty kiss right in the middle of the river.



With the rushing water framing them, they held each other close—completely unfazed by the wet clothes. While he leaned in to gently kiss the top of her head, she locked eyes directly with my camera lens. That fierce, breathtaking gaze combined with his quiet embrace created an absolute masterpiece of a portrait.
