Court Sides & Cabin Sides: A Dynamic Austin Senior Session
Senior portrait sessions are all about honoring the closing of one major chapter and the exciting beginning of the next. For Jesse's session, his family wanted a backdrop that balanced rugged, earthy elements with a clean spot to highlight his incredible athletic milestones. Not only did they plan an amazing session, but they actually road-tripped all the way from Oklahoma down to Austin specifically to make these photos happen!
Knowing they made the journey down to Texas, and knowing this family is a group of major history buffs, we locked in the absolute perfect destination hidden gem: Katherine Fleischer Park.
This unique location let us beautifully blend their love for rustic heritage with some absolutely stellar sports imagery.
Between the shaded greenery and the stunning 1850s historic Gault pioneer homestead on-site, the setting provided that perfect timeless vibe while we celebrated a monumental milestone: Jesse ranking as one of the top tennis players in both his high school and the entire state!
Blending Masculine Texture with Hardcourt Precision
To give Jesse's portraits a bold, masculine tone, we leaned hard into the historic, weathered textures around the park property. I had a clear creative vision for this shoot, wanting to capture a balanced narrative: the grounded, rustic side of his personality alongside his intense, athletic focus on the hardcourt.
He completely owned the camera, transitioning seamlessly between look book styling and performance motion.
We moved from the log cabin porch out to the beautiful, well-maintained sports facilities, using the rich textures of weathered wood, historic stonework, and the crisp, bold lines of the tennis courts to create a striking visual rhythm.
